Digital Engineering Modeling of Integrated Photonics: Free Space Optical Communication System (FSOC)

The positioning, navigation, and timing systems that we rely on more and more from satellites orbiting the earth require GPS signals. But what happens when those satellites are unreliable, potentially from the jamming or spoofing of those easily manipulated GPS transmissions?  

This project is developing Digital Engineering solutions for photonics-based free-space optics communication technology. The digital twin developed by the GMU team provides comprehensive analysis of link margin between different Optical Phase Array (OPAs) under different atmospheric conditions.
